What Is The Feral Folklorist Podcast?

The Feral Folklorist is a folklore and supernatural storytelling podcast hosted by author and folklorist Gregory Lee White, known as Papa Gee. Each episode explores ghost stories, strange legends, haunted history, mysterious creatures, omens, cursed objects, and the beliefs that kept those stories alive.

We dig into what history records, what legend adds, and why certain stories refuse to be forgotten. Some begin with a documented event. Others have been whispered, embellished, and passed down for generations. Either way, there’s usually more hiding beneath the story than you first expect.

Folk magic is part of the picture too—old charms, protective practices, superstitions, and the occasional practical insight when they belong to the story. But at its heart, The Feral Folklorist is about the eerie, the uncanny, and the strange stories people have carried with them through history.

Some of it’s historical. Some of it’s legendary. All of it has teeth.

The Feral Folklorist

This is the main show—where ghost stories, strange legends, haunted history, mysterious creatures, old superstitions, and folk magic get pulled apart to see what’s really underneath them. Papa Gee follows the history, the folklore, and the people who kept these stories alive, separating what was documented from what was whispered into legend. It’s a deeper look at the eerie stories people have carried with them for generations.

Feral by Night

Feral by Night is a separate scary-storytelling podcast written and narrated by Papa Gee, filled with haunted houses, strange roads, hidden rooms, ghostly figures, cursed objects, old superstitions, and things that should probably have stayed buried. These are original atmospheric horror stories for anyone who loves ghost stories, folk horror, Southern Gothic, paranormal suspense, and that uneasy feeling that something may be standing just outside the light.

Turn the lights down. Settle in. Some stories are better after dark.

Feral Fragments

logo for feral fragments storiesNot every strange story needs a full-length episode—but some are too good to leave behind. Feral Fragments is an occasional bonus from The Feral Folklorist, appearing whenever Papa Gee finds an odd legend, bizarre incident, strange creature, unexplained event, or piece of weird history worth telling.

Shorter than the main show, these episodes are quick detours into the peculiar, unsettling, and downright strange. There’s no regular schedule for Feral Fragments—they simply turn up whenever a story is too interesting to ignore.
